Pastor Jonthan Downing

 

        Pastor Jonthan Downing is a native of Edenton, North Carolina.

She has three sons and three daughters-in-law along with eight adorable grandchildren. She was educated in the public school system of Perquimans County. She furthered her education at Elizabeth City State University in Elizabeth City, North Carolina where she obtained a dual Bachelors of Arts Degree (Intermediate/Elementary). She has now completed her Masters of Divinity Degree from Regent University with hopes of a candidacy for a Doctorate.

       Jonthan is also the co-founder of Shalom International Church,

in beautiful downtown historic Edenton, North Carolina. The church is

now ten years old and has experienced phenomenal growth impacting

the lives of young and old alike. Feeding and caring for the community

is at the heart of what she does. Jonthan has been involved in many religious affiliations such as being an active Sunday school teacher, Women’s Fellowship Leader, Prison Ministry fellow, and a traveling evangelist.

     She conducts workshops, conventions, and retreats. One of her greatest admirations is women in ministry, thereby becoming the President and

CEO of a spiritual organization called Mentees-in-Motion. This 501-C3 organization sponsors the Wailing Women’s Family Life Conference annually. This conference has been in existence ten years and continues

to meet the needs of men and women of all ages.

     Jonthan, along with her spouse, has established an annual Marriage Retreat called Chance, Romance, and Finance. This retreat is for married couples who are experiencing trouble in matrimony, or to advance their already stable marriage. This retreat issponsored by Downing Evangelistic Ministries, the catalyst for most of her ministries.

     Jonthan has been asked to accompany her Apostle, Decker Tapscott Sr., on his Board of Directors of Power Ministries which she accepts with gratitude. Jonthan is also an aired media personality in Edenton and Virginia. Her broadcasts can be heard on Saturdays and Sundays. She is a regular on WBXB and Rejoice 100.9. People listen attentively to the raw, uncut, and redefining word of God.

     Finally, Jonthan is also an entrepreneur. She has established a childcare center called Out of the Box, along with an after-school program; and a Witness Wares Variety Store . She works tirelessly for the advancement of the Kingdom of God, desiring to see the whole earth filled with His Glory!
